They met by chance 60 years ago – Arik from Tel Aviv, Gerda from Copenhagen, two young people whose lives were just beginning. At age 84, she decided to look for him, and he, at 89, boarded a plane to meet her again

Three years ago, Gerda Skovsgaard cleaned out her home. Recently widowed, she had to pack up her apartment in Geneva, and like many other people during the coronavirus pandemic, she took advantage of the closure to go through old things. In her storeroom she found an old photo album and a diary she had kept in the 1960s.
